Trainee Bodyshop Estimator

Stephen James Enfield is looking for a Trainee Bodyshop Estimator/VDA.

Your role

As a Trainee Bodyshop Estimator, you will look after customer vehicles requiring accident repair work, work alongside the qualified Bodyshop Estimator, liaise with insurance companies, and provide hands-on support. At the same time as learning every aspect of the role, including inspecting vehicles, estimating repair work, and selling Bodyshop time, products, and services.

The main duties of the role include:

  • Dealing with accident repair enquiries
  • Inspecting and advising customers on their damaged vehicle
  • Learn to process repair estimates using the Audatex system
  • Provide admin support and make customer repair bookings
  • Provide regular communication to customers, keeping them informed of repair progress, additional work needed or vehicle completion
  • Learn to determine if the vehicle can be repaired and what work will be required to restore the vehicle to its factory condition
  • Photograph and record a list of damages to the customers’ vehicles
  • Negotiate repair approvals with insurance companies and build relationships with engineers
  • Prepare job packs

Working hours are Monday – Friday, 8 am – 6 pm

Your profile

  • Enjoys being in front of customers building trust and relationships whilst giving advice and problem solving
  • Passion for customer service and must be well presented 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to multitask in a busy environment
  • Strong IT /Microsoft skills and the ability to keep up to date with technical information
  • Strong administration, with a process-orientated approach and following up within agreed timeframes
  • Proven previous knowledge and experience of working in a similar role, preferable in an insurance company or accident repair/service centre.
  • Must have a keen interest and enthusiasm for developing a career in the automotive industry, particularly in accident and repair 
  • Valid and clean manual UK Driving Licence and must be eligible to work in the UK
