BODYSHOP APPRENTICESHIP.
As a Bodyshop Apprentice, you will learn how to repair/refinish vehicles produced by one of the most renowned and innovative vehicle manufacturers. You will be working in a busy BMW/MINI Bodyshop, where you will be learning how to carry out repairs to accident damaged motor vehicles adhering to the high standards of the brand and utilising the latest technology and repair techniques.
Your qualifications will include:
- IMI Level 3 Vehicle Damage Paint or Panel Technician
- IMIAL Level 2 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicles
- Included in the Panel qualification is the welding accreditation to meet PAS125 accreditation along with the IMIAL Level 3 Award in Automotive Refrigeration Handling
*Devolved nations will receive an equivalent qualification.
MOTOR VEHICLE SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN APPRENTICESHIP.
As a Motor Vehicle technician apprentice, you will work on the latest vehicles and components. Using BMW Group diagnostic equipment, ultimately leading to the ability to undertake diagnosis, maintenance, service, and repair activities on vehicles to the highest standards of the brand.
Your qualifications will include:
- IMI Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician
- IMI Level 3 Award in Automotive Refrigeration Handling
- IMI Level 2 Award in Electric / Hybrid Vehicles
- IMI ATA Service Maintenance Technician Accreditation (BMW certification inclusive)

CUSTOMER SERVICE PRACTITIONER/AFTERSALES CUSTOMER SERVICE APPRENTICESHIP.
As a Customer Service/Aftersales Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to represent one of the leading and technologically innovative automotive companies by providing outstanding customer service within our Retail Network. You will be making an impact and bringing our vision to life by confidently handling all customer requirements for service, parts, and vehicle repairs in an efficient and professional manner.
Your qualifications will include:
- IMI Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner
- BMW Certification in Service Advisor, Parts Advisor or Genius.

SALES EXECUTIVE APPRENTICESHIP (ENGLAND ONLY).
As a Sales Executive Apprentice, you will have the privilege of contributing to the success of one of the world's most prestigious automotive manufacturers. Throughout the programme, your training will focus on extensive product knowledge, exceptional communication skills, the highest levels of customer service and delivering a premium experience to our customers.
Your qualifications will include:
- IMI Level 4 Sales Executive
- BMW Sales Certification inclusive
MOTORCYCLE (MOTORRAD) MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR TECHNICIAN APPRENTICESHIP.
As a Motorcycle Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work with our line of fantastic motorcycles. Ultimately leading to the ability to undertake maintenance, service, and repair activities on motorcycles to the highest standards. Throughout the programme, you will gain hands-on experience, learn from expert technicians, and develop a deep understanding of motorcycle systems. You will become proficient in using specialised tools and contribute to our renowned high-quality service.
Your qualifications will include:
- IMI Level 3 Motorcycle Technician Repair and Maintenance (or equivalent)

Some frequently asked questions regarding the BMW apprenticeship programme:
Are there any requirements?
If you are interested in applying for a BMW Apprenticeship, applicants are required to have, or predicted to obtain, GCSEs at grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent in Maths and English (literature or language).
For our Sales Apprenticeship, you must also hold a UK driver’s license.
To join as an apprentice, you must be at least 16 years old as of your enrolment date. There is no upper age limit for being an apprentice.
What happens if I am successful?
If successful, you will be employed at a BMW Group Retailer – an independent business, but as part of BMW Group UK’s Retail Network.
Every new apprentice will attend an exciting induction programme at the Plas Menai National Water sports Centre in Wales. Apprentices will then attend their first training block at one of our training centres.
What is the recruitment process?
Once we receive your application, we will assess it to verify you meet the initial eligibility criteria.

You will be required to complete an aptitude test as part of the application process.
Who will support me on my programme?
Our experienced trainers provide the course material and hands-on teaching necessary to help you successfully complete your qualification. Additionally, the BMW Group has a dedicated team of representatives who regularly visit your workplace to ensure all your training needs are met, and to support you throughout your apprenticeship. You will also be appointed a mentor, to provide advice and guidance when at work.
In addition, we have a specialised support team available to assist you with any challenges you may face throughout your apprenticeship journey. Whether you require additional learning support or have any other concerns, there is a team member ready to help you.
